Tyholland B's Robbed of Final Victory
A goal by Seamus Mulholland a minute into stoppage time saw Carrickmacross get a second chance at the end of this reserve league division 2 final in Drumhowan on Saturday evening 14th July.

Carrickmacross were awarded a somewhat fortuitous free when Tyholland defender Mark Treanor was blown for over carrying. They took the free quickly to Seamus Mulholland who wrong footed two defenders and sent a low shot to the Tyholland under the body of diving keeper Philip Myers to square the game.

The game as a contest never rose to any great heights but did become more competitive in the second half after a mundane enough opening period when Tyholland were the more dominant side. A goal by Paul Coyle in the 13th minute gave Tyholland a lead they never relinquished and a score that Carrickmacross were chasing throughout. Tyholland led at half time by 1-3 to 0-3 and while Carrickmacross improved considerably in the second half they could only reduce the deficit to the minimum after eight minutes. A second goal by substitute Michael Boyce gave Tyholland a six points lead entering the final quarter and they looked to have done enough to hold out for a narrow victory only to be caught right at the death.

Peadar Farrelly brought the sides level with a great point from the wing. Barry Farrelly and Dermot Coyle added a point each to leave the sides level at the break.
The second half was more of the same. Cathal Quinn added 2 either side of a good Peadar Farrelly point. There was little between the sides when Tyholland struck the only goal of the game. Paul Coyle won the ball in the left corner and went past his marker fisted the ball across the penalty area and Peadar Farrelly got on the end of it diving to fist the ball to the net and putting Tyholland 2 points up 1-10 to 0-11. Ballybay then saw 2 players sent off in quick succession which give the home side a huge lift. John McConnell added a rare left footed point to finish the game off. Tyholland's second string earned the point they needed against Clones last Wednesday night to set up a home semi final draw against either Inniskeen or Ballybay. It was a fair result in the end as both teams had chances to win the game. Tyholland opened their scoring through Dermot Coyle and added another from Paul Coyle. Clones replied with 2 points before Cathal Quinn found the net after a great move. Clones hit back with 3 points before Barry Farrelly replied for the home side. However , it was the visitors who went in at the break 1 up. 1-3 to 0-7. The second half was much of the same with both teams canceling out each others scores. Dermot Coyle and Barry Farrelly adding 2 points each for Tyholland. Tyholland even afforded a 2nd penalty miss in successive games, this time it was Cathal Quinn who struck the post from the spot. However, Quinn made up for his miss with a well struck 45 that give Tyholland the point they needed to make the semis. The semi final is fixed for June 8th.

B's lose out to Inniskeen
Tyholland 2-11 Inniskeen 4-6.
Tyholland's reserves suffered their 2nd defeat of the campaign losing narrowly to Inniskeen last Sunday. For some of our players it was their 4th game in 8 days which is a lot to ask of anyone. Tyholland had a mixed opening half starting with 2 well taken points from Barry Farrelly. However, simple mistakes allowed Inniskeen to score 2 goals in quick succession. A Paul Coyle fisted goal and great points from Mickey Boyce, the lively Dermot Coyle and Peadar Farrelly had Tyholland back in the game. Cathal Quinn from a free and Paul Coyle added scores to leave Tyholland 1-7 to 2-2 in the lead at half time.
Inniskeen opened the scoring in the second half but Tyholland replied almost immediately with a point from Paul Coyle. Inniskeen added another point before scoring 2 goals in as many minutes to take a 5 point lead half way through the 2nd half. A 2nd Paul Coyle goal and frees from Cathal Quinn and Michael Boyce brought Tyholland to within a point of the visitors but we could never get that elusive equaliser.

Reserves record 2nd win
Tyholland overcame a tough test in Threemilehouse beating the home side by 5 points in splendid conditions. Tyholland opened the scoring with a cracking goal from Alan Farrelly struck to the top corner of the net. Farrelly added another 2 points (1 free) before the Seans had opened their account. Barry Farrelly added a point from a free and then scored a fortunate goal which went in off the post from a sideline kick but Barry will tell you he meant it. Tyholland's third goal came after a great move involving Michael Boyce, Cathal Quinn and Pauric Hamill, Hamill's deflected shot falling to Boyce who tucked it away. The Seans were then awarded a dubious penalty and duly scored it. Both teams exchanged points, Cathal Quinn the Tyholland scorer, to leave the half time score Seans 1-3 Tyholland 3-4.

The 2nd half was a very scrappy affair and the whistle happy man in the middle only contributed to this. Both teams added points with the Tyholland score coming from Michael Boyce. The Sean's then scored a goal from a quickly taken free kick which brought them within 3 points of a comeback. Both teams had a man sent off in a case of mistaken identity. The game resumed after this comical error with an excellent point from Peadar Farrelly and 2 frees, 1 from Cathal Quinn and the other from Barry Farrelly, either side of a Seans score leaving the final score Seans 2-6 Tyholland 3-8.

Reserves Lose to Ballybay
Tyholland lost out to Ballybay by a single point in what should have been our second win of the season. A bad first half performance saw Tyholland down by 8 points at half time.
Tyholland turned things around in the second half with 2 quick goals and some great points. The first an excellent move finished by Peadar Farrelly which was then followed by an own goal. Tyholland edged their way into the lead and looked to be heading for another win with points from Ossie Hughes and a 45 from Cathal Quinn. Ballybay fought back and much like their first half goals a high ball into the square was fisted to the net to put the visitors back in front, a lead they would not lose.
